Anzac BBQ Prawn Skewers

Prawns on a skewer with butter garlic sauce
Servings 4


  • 8 bamboo skewers Soak in water for 10-20 mins to prevent skewer from burning
  • 1 Frying Pan or Skillet
  • 1 Basting Brush


  • 600 grams Raw Prawns
  • Pinch to Taste Herbs(Parsley. Basil, Oregano & thyme)
  • 1/2 or 1 tspn Lemons or Lemon Juice
  • Pinch to Taste Salt @ Pepper
  • 50-70 ml White Wine
  • 4 cloves Garlic
  • 200 grams Butter


  • Soak Bamboo Skewers in water between 10 to 20 mins, this will prevent skewers from burning on BBQ
  • Clean raw prawns by removing the head and shell. Then thread prawns onto skewers.
  • Prepare Garlic Butter Sauce by chopping the garlic cloves into as fine pieces as you can, place garlic into a pan and sear. Do not over fry your Garlic, it can burn very quickly and will taste bitter.. Next, take the butter, put it in the pan, and let it melt on low heat. Once butter is melted add salt, pepper and other herbs to your liking. Next, add wine and lemon to your taste.
  • Take the basting brush and brush Sauce onto the skewers; once prepared, cook them on the BBQ. When skewers are ready, pour the remaining sauce on top of the skewers as you serve them on your plate.


Do not over fry your Garlic, it can burn very quickly and will taste bitter.
Use real Butter and not butter replacements.
